Today, MTA announced that instead of having drastic fare hikes (as it had planned back in March), it will raise the fares slightly (~10% increase instead of 25%). Below are the new fare rates (starting June 28):
Subway/Bus: $2.25 (current: $2.o0)
15% bonus on pay-per-ride MetroCard: $8 (current: $7)
7-day unlimited MetroCard: $27 (current: $25; originally proposed: $31)
