1. Sign up for the gym
2. Cook a full meal
3. Star in a TV drama
You didn’t know? The oh-so-talented blogger is actually a day-time TV star. I know… it’s difficult to fathom that I would have the time. Well, like I mentioned in my first post, I’m a creative and determined person, i.e. I’ll find some way to get things done!
But, sadly, I’m just kidding about that 3rd item. Instead, I actually bought the perfect laptop—the one I’m using to blog, actually.
Oh, how naïve (and hopeful) I had been in 2008. I made a list of 20 items, all of which I was certain I could at least start. Ha! Six months into 2008, I realized I only started one thing: join the gym. Thank goodness I knew myself well enough when I composed the list to know that even “joining” the gym was a great feat. If I had written “go” to the gym, I probably would have ignored that one like the others on my list. It’s not that I don’t like to exercise. I love to dance, play basketball, climb a fake wall, swim in a lake, etc. It’s just that I never found myself excited about being red-faced and sweaty doing one redundant move in front of tens of people in a brightly lit room. Nonetheless, I did force myself to sign up for a $20 two-week trial at the local gym. I went all two weeks (I know, surprisingly!), except I only went 3x in that two-week period…
The other two completed tasks comprise of cooking a full meal and buying my Lenovo x300—less than an inch thick, less than 3lbs, solid-state hard drive. What a beauty!
For those who know me well, they know cooking is just as difficult for me as going to the gym. I am capable of making a full meal (hell, I cooked a full Thanksgiving meal two years ago!), but I just choose not to. Yet, this year I did cook one full meal: dried cranberry olive spinach salad appetizer and seared Ahi tuna with avocado entree! Oh trust me, the meal was delicious!
So those are the 3 completed tasks of 2008. That just means more to do in 2009!
In case you’re curious, here is the actual list.
